Teachers Union / out of control taxes! (SPONSOR 05/14/04 10:31am)
How can we get control of the teachers salaries and benefit package. The Teachers Union is lobbying the Democrats to block a vote to make it illegal to raise our taxes without a referendum vote. We need to run the School District like a business, not a small kingdom that has the total wealth of its peasants at it's disposal! (SPONSOR 05/14/04 10:31am) REPLY
Very true! I am one of the biggest proponents of education and teachers - and I do think teachers are underpaid. However, I also think they should being paying for at least a portion of their health care as most of us do. I also think that after retirement, health care benefits should no longer be paid for by the school district or a fund into which the district has paid.
